Acharya Shiv Pujan Sahay, a great Hindi literature devotee who lived a life of austerity, was a literary sage like Dadhichi who sacrificed his body for the national language. His scholarship, humility and brilliance were renowned throughout India. Great storytellers like Premchand and great poets like Jaishankar Prasad used to get their books edited by Acharya Shivji. Shivji was a live workshop and dictionary of literature. ACHARYA SHIV PUJAN  SAHAY WAS A LITERARY SAGE WHO SACRIFICED HIS LIFE FOR HIND: Dr. ANIL SULABH

PATNA (RNI) Acharya Shiv Pujan Sahay, a great Hindi literature devotee who lived a life of austerity, was a literary sage like Dadhichi who sacrificed his body for the national language. His scholarship, humility and brilliance were renowned throughout India. Great storytellers like Premchand and great poets like Jaishankar Prasad used to get their books edited by Acharya Shivji. Shivji was a live workshop and dictionary of literature. It is a matter of pride that he was the president of Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan and the editor-in-chief of the conference magazine 'Sahitya' for many years.

These things were said by the conference president Dr Anil Sulabh while presiding over the second issue of the solo poetry reading series 'Kathayami Katha' organized on the birth anniversary of Acharya Sahay at Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan on Saturday. The story writer of this issue and Deputy Director in the Education Department, Ramesh Chandra read out his two stories 'Pa-Pa-Papa' and 'Lachminiya'. Reacting to these, Dr. Sulabh said that a precious combination of reality and poetic imagination is visible in the stories of Shri Ramesh. There is no feeling of despair towards life in these, but there are saintly aspirations that give momentum to life.

Before this, senior Hindi activist and member of the conference's working committee Acharya Vijay Gunjan read the introduction of the story writer Ramesh Chandra.

While giving a quick review of the stories, Dr. Samarendra Arya said that both the stories of the writer are heart-touching. While listening to them, it feels as if I am reading Premchand and Phanishwarnath Renu. Through his story, the writer has also highlighted the duties of a teacher. The duty of a teacher is not just to teach a lesson. He should try to impart education keeping in mind the overall development of the students. In her critical comments, the vice-president of the conference, Dr Madhu Verma, said that the writer has expressed the motherly love and inner pain of a mentally retarded special child in his story 'Pa-Pa Papa'. In this story, attention has been drawn towards the pain and difficult responsibility of the parents of special children and it has been told that if the parents continue their penance, then miraculous changes can come in special children also.
